These cases are unresolved and assigned to the investigators at the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department

Criminal Investigations Division

On December 16, 1995, several children found an abandoned vehicle in the 15000 block of Pajarito Road SW.  The children looked inside a closed trunk and discovered a deceased male.  The victim was identified as 69 year old Perfecto Flores, who died of blunt force trauma of the head.

On December 5, 2002, deputies were dispatched to the 6000 block of Niese SW. The body of a male was discovered in the bed of a red 2000 Ford truck. The victim was identified as Jose Esteves, who died from multiple stab wounds.

CHARLES D. ORTEGA  Missing Person Case  03-551595

Charles Dion Ortega was reported missing by family members who last saw him the morning of

February 21, 2003. Mr. Ortega was dismissed from his job due to absence and has not been seen by his landlord. Foul play is suspected.

On September 20, 1988 at approximately 9:00 a.m., 19 year old Tara Leigh Calico left for her daily 17-mile bike ride on old Highway 6, south of the Rio Communities in Belen, NM. Witnesses confirm seeing Tara riding a neon-pink mountain bike just before noon. Within two miles of her home, she and her bike disappeared. A light colored pickup truck with an attached camper shell, was observed close behind her as she rode toward home. On June 19, 2009, Miguel Soto reported to work and left during his lunch break.  On this same date, Miguel was seen getting into a gray colored "low rider" pickup with black rims, after exiting his red Chevy Tahoe in Valencia County. Miguel never returned to his family and does not answered his cell phone. Foul play is suspected.
