On November 18, 1992, deputies were dispatched to NM Highway #14 near mile post 8 for a homicide. The body of a partially nude male was discovered by a passerby driving north on NM Highway 14. The victim was later identified as 33 year old Joseph Jones, who died of a gunshot wound.
On October 7, 2007, Jacob Najera attended a party in the 1800 block of Sausalito Drive SW. He was intoxicated and was assaulted by several people at the party. He was found unconscious in a neighbor’s yard the next day. Jacob died in May of 2008 from his injuries. Investigators learned multiple witnesses were present when the assault took place.
On June 27, 1994, 39 year old Danny Hinojosa was found shot to death at 310 Mc Comb Road in Tijeras. A white small vehicle, possibly occupied by two males, fled the area at the time of the shooting. The victim died of multiple gunshot wounds.
On April 9, 1988, the body of 17 year old Larry Gallegos was discovered in an open field near the 100 block of Prosperity Road SE. Larry died of blunt force trauma to the head. This location was near a playground where teens would “hang out” at night.
On May 19, 1993, gunshots were heard near the 6900 block of 2nd Street NW. Police found the store clerk, 38 year old Thomas Kelly lying in the doorway of the News Stand store. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later died from multiple gunshot wounds.
